CNPC has a nationwide network of sales terminals. By the end of 2024 we had 22,441 service stations in 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions as well as Hong Kong SAR in China,serving more than 10 million client-times a day on average.
In view of the changes in market demand, the Company seizes the opportunities in electric vehicle and hydrogen energy sectors and leverages its marketing network to push ahead with the charging stations and the demonstration projects for hydrogen refueling stations. In this way, it endeavors to build an integrated energy service provider of oil, gas, hydrogen, electricity and non-fuel products, with world-wide recognition and a leading position in China. In 2024, the Company added 418 service stations and 5 hydrogen refueling stations. As of the end of 2024, the Company operated a total of 22,441 service stations across the country.
We launched the "uSmile" brand in 2008 for the integrated operation and management of our convenience stores. The smile design shows our service philosophy and quality in the sales business.
Now CNPC operates nearly 20,000 "uSmile" convenience stores in some provincial capitals, coastal cities and municipalities, with increasing customer recognition and satisfaction of the uSmile brand.
Based on the sales system and network of conventional stations, we build smart stations which provide one-stop services by leveraging the Internet-based Big Data, Cloud, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), the Internet of Things (IoT), and mobile payment. Services include vehicle decoration, inspection, insurance agency, and maintenance. More than 1,000 commodities are available in convenience store inside station. Customers can choose to pay online by their pre-paid fuel cards, WeChat, or Alipay, and then pick their purchase at the nearest service station, where they can also send and receive parcels, book tickets, withdraw money, and pay utilities charges, etc.
According to the report of the 2023 China Brand Power IndexSM (C-BPI) released by the renowned brand rating and consulting company Chnbrand, CNPC came 2nd in the overall brand rating.
Card Services
CNPC's Refueling Card System (RCS) is a massive IC card application project across different systems and regions. In this project, CNPC works with ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) to electronically retail oil products, providing a better and more convenient customer experience.
The RCS has been put into operation in 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions as well as Hong Kong SAR in China.
Our Kunlun pre-paid fuel card can give the card owners quick and convenient access to refueling services. In 2014, the Kunlun pre-paid fuel card was recognized as the "Most Reputable Brand" at the 5th Prepaid Card Industry Summit of China.In addition, we have also built an integrated “one-stop” service platform that provides consultation services, information enquiry, card loss register, complaint, and suggestion to Kunlun card holders.
In 2019, we launched Kunlun ETC cards, which can also be used for payment at our service stations, in corporation with China's Ministry of Transport and ICBC.
Kunlun ROC Centers
Our Kunlun ROC (Rapid Oil Change) centers provide customers with a quality oil change service as well as efficient professional testing, car wash and maintenance services.
We have established ROC centers in all major cities of China, and set up the "Home of Oil-change Workers" clubs. Local taxi drivers regularly gather to participate in club activities. Corporate and individual members can take part in the club's "Automobile Mechanics' Craftsmanship Competition" and other events, at which they learn more about lubricants and automobile repair.
We have established outlets in Beijing, Daqing, Lanzhou, Dalian, and Chongqing. All these outlets provide emergency assistance in a short range of 3-5 kilometers.
