Jidong Oil Province

Jidong Oil Province is located in Tangshan in Hebei Province, covering the north part of Huanghua depression in the Bohai Bay Basin. Gaoshangpu, Liuzan, Laoyemiao, Tanghai, and Nanpu oilfields have been discovered and developed.

The complex fault-block oilfields have been successfully developed by using 3D seismic prospecting, fine exploration and development mode, multilateral and horizontal well drilling and multi-stage separate layer injection.

CNPC began to explore Nanpu tidal zone and shallow water area in the 1980s. Since 2002, guided by the geology of oil-rich sags in terrestrial basins and the prospecting theory of lithostratigraphic reservoirs, CNPC targeted the Nanpu offshore exploration to structural and lithostratigraphic reservoirs at shallow to medium depths. Complex structures and reservoirs were finely described through high-precision 3D seismic and joint PSTM (pre-stack time migration) processing and interpretation.
