Aligning with evolving national policies and updated listing rules of the jurisdictions where PetroChina is listed, the Report addresses key concerns of global investors, partners, communities and other stakeholders. It highlights PetroChina's accelerated transition over the past year, as well as its latest practices and notable achievements in building a safe, healthy and green enterprise.

In parallel, it actively responds to international initiatives such as the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, strictly implements national policies on biodiversity conservation, and seeks a dynamic balance between high-quality development and robust ecological protection, safeguarding biodiversity and contributing to the construction of a "Beautiful China" through concrete actions.

It systematically identifies and assesses ESG-related issues, continuously strengthens ESG risk management and response, and comprehensively improves ESG management efficiency. It has incorporated sustainability concepts throughout its decision-making process, making new progress in modernizing its corporate governance system and capabilities.
In 2025, PetroChina's ESG performance received broad market recognition. Its ratings from major domestic and international agencies improved across the board: the MSCI rating rose from B to A, the Wind rating climbed from BBB to A, and the S&P Global score ranked highest among domestic peers. Moreover, PetroChina was honored with a series of awards, including the "Best Practice Cases in Sustainable Development for Listed Companies" by the China Association for Public Companies (CAPCO), the "ESG Disclosure Contribution Award" by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, the "Gold Quality ESG Award" by Shanghai Securities News, and the "ESG Sustainability Pioneer Enterprise" by Securities Daily.
