Modern integrated oilfield waste treatment center

The Ronier Oilfield is located in Chad, in the African savanna. Since participating in oilfield exploration and development in the local region, CNPC has been strictly complying with local laws and regulations, and integrating green and cleaner production into the entire production process. In addition to promoting green drilling technology, we have also been vigorously promoting pollution control at the source of emissions. We have built a modern integrated oilfield waste treatment center integrating waste oil recovery, industrial wastewater treatment, low-oil soil biodegradation and restoration, oil-polluted soil incineration, and solid hazardous waste treatment in the oilfield.

In the past 15 years of operation, the center has processed 8,000 tons of oil sludge, recovered 4,800 cubic meters of sump oil, and treated 795 tons of hazardous waste and 5,564 tons of non-hazardous waste. At the same time, the company has also effectively carried out waste recycling, for example, using the treated sludge for well site layout, road construction, and backfilling of excavation pits, and using treated clean water for drilling fluid preparation and road sprinkling to suppress dust. Thanks to its continuous efforts in promoting green and low-carbon development, the project company of CNPC was granted the Environmental Excellence Award by the Chadian Ministry of Environment.
