Promoting local economic development

The Uzbek section of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline (Line A, Line B and Line C in parallel) is the largest cooperation project that CNPC operates in Uzbekistan. During the construction and operation of the pipeline, thousands of jobs were created for local people, making a positive contribution to local economic and social development.

For many years running, we have selected and assigned Uzbek employees to receive technical and management training at China University of Petroleum, cultivating petroleum professionals for local entities. We also actively performed social welfare activities, such as building 30-km roads for the communities in Fergana and Bukhara, providing UZS100 million of educational funds to 48 middle schools in Bukhara, and making several donations to Toshkent, in order to support local infrastructure construction for people’s better livelihoods.
