CNPC urgently allocates and transports 7,000 tons of oil products to Sichuan

After the Sichuan earthquake struck, CNPC opened a "green channel" for earthquake resistance and disaster relief according to the arrangement of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to secure oil supplies to hospitals, the army and the police in order to deal with the disaster.

The strong earthquake cut off the Baoji-Chengdu railway and damaged the Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing Pipeline, restricting the transportation of oil from Northwest China to Sichuan Province. Facing such serious transportation problems, CNPC actively coordinated with Shenyang Railway Bureau and organized three special trains loaded with 7,000 tons of oil products to arrive at the quake-hit areas in the early morning of May 14.
