CNPC's disaster relief efforts in full swing 
 

In response to the severe earthquake that hit Sichuan province at 2:28 pm on May 12, CNPC established a disaster relief team on May 13, headed by President Jiang Jiemin and supported by Vice Presidents Zhou Jiping, Wang Yilin and Liao Yongyuan, to be fully in charge of disaster relief work.

CNPC's disaster relief work includes:

1. Immediately enhancing the inspection of oil & gas pipelines, oil stores and service stations in the stricken regions; closely supervising the situation, with emphasis on the consequences and safety hazards caused by the earthquake; and losing no time to repair damaged equipment and appliances.

2. Providing 100,000 tons of refined oil to meet the needs of disaster relief work as well as people's daily needs.

3. Attaching great importance to the rescue of people, and at oil stores and service stations in stricken regions, with the aim of minimizing casualties and losses.

4. Donating RMB 10 million to quake-hit areas and mobilizing CNPC's professional resources to provide equipment, machines and tools, firefighting and rescue to the regions at any time.  

Headed by Vice President Wang Yilin, CNPC's staff in charge of disaster relief work left for the quake-hit areas on May 13.

CNPC's production in the stricken regions is now under control. The Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing Products Pipeline restarted after 22 hours of suspension, with a deliverability of 600 cubic meters per hour, providing an important guarantee in terms of oil supply to the disaster areas.
