Concerted Efforts Against Earthquake

The magnitude-7.8 earthquake that hit southwestern China on May 12, 2008 has had a great impact on CNPC's oil and gas fields as well as refining and marketing enterprises in Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi and Gansu. CNPC promptly launched its emergency plan, made tackling the impact of the quake its top priority, and got actively involved in quake rescue efforts to ensure the safety of its staff and production facilities.

While resuming the operation of its subsidiaries in the afflicted areas, CNPC's quake relief efforts have been in full swing, including ensuring the safe operation of oil and gas storage and transport facilities, increasing the supply of oil products and gas to quake-hit areas, especially the severely afflicted ones, and mobilizing and organizing its staff to make donations to aid people in the quake-hit areas.
