On October 4, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Guangxi Petrochemical Company   located at Qinzhou Port in the Bay of Tonkin area, Guangxi Province. CNPC President Jiang Jiemin and General Manager of Guangxi Petrochemical Wu Enlai made briefings on the construction of the 10Mt/a refinery to Premier Wen who in turn offered significant instructions on the construction of the project. Premier Wen stressed that priority should be given to environmental protection when adopting scientific planning and advanced technologies in the development and construction of the Bay of Tonkin area.  The petrochemical project in Guangxi, which is to become operational in the first half of 2010, is an important project of CNPC in its refinery distribution adjustment and has great influence in ensuring the supply of oil products in Southwest China and promoting the economic and social development in Guangxi.
