CNPC President Jiang Jemin was appointed as the chairman of the Board of Directors of PetroChina Company Limited, a holding company of CNPC, at a meeting of the board on May 20. He had previously served as a vice-chairman of PetroChina.

In addition, Duan Wende was appointed as an executive director of the company, Zheng Hu, Zhou Jiping, Wang Yilin, Zeng Yukang, Hong Huazhang and Jiang Fan were appointed as non-executive directors, and Dong Jiancheng, Liu Hongru and Franco Bernabe were appointed as independent directors.
