CNPC attaches great importance to the optimization of its personnel structure as well as development and training of its human resources, and has created a working environment in which knowledge and ability are respected, and individual talent is brought into full play.In accordance with our strategy of enterprise development, we have established a qualified workforce that operates in the areas of upstream and downstream oil and gas operations; production, supply, and marketing; and domestic and overseas ventures. The workforce is also involved in areas including technical engineering and production services, processing and manufacturing*.
By 2007, CNPC had 17 Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians, 55 "China National Experts of Outstanding Contribution", 176 CNPC experts, and 16,000 technicians and senior technicians. Our managers are highly skilled in modern enterprise operations, management theory and decision-making. Our technological experts and operational personnel possess superior qualifications, advanced knowledge and extensive experience, and are at the forefront of China's petroleum industry.
CNPC continues to attract more talented personnel. In 2007, 12,439 graduates joined us, of whom 1,530 had master's degrees or doctorates. To satisfy our overseas business needs, we employed 76 Chinese students who had studied overseas and assigned 128 excellent professionals to study abroad. Ten staff members were recognized as "Outstanding Youth", 62 employees were recognized as "Excellent Youth" and 20 staff were recognized as "CNPC Model Workers".
