September 26, 1959 A commercial oil flow was obtained from well Songji 3 in the Songliao Basin in Heilongjiang Province, marking the discovery of the world-class giant Daqing Oilfield.
September 13, 1958 A commercial oil flow was acquired from well Dizhong 4 in the Lenghu area of Qinghai, marking the discovery of the Qinghai Oilfield.
October 31, 1955 A commercial oil flow was obtained from No. 1 exploratory well in Heiyoushan on the northwest flank of Xinjiang's Junggar Basin, marking the discovery of the Karamay Oilfield.
December 27, 1954 Pilot waterflood was conducted in Laojunmiao Oilfield in Yumen. This was an important milestone in China's oilfield development history, and provided valuable experience for the long-term high and stable production of giant oilfields discovered subsequently, such as Daqing.
