Engineering and Construction 　 CNPC has a professional and efficient construction team and a total quality management system that provides petroleum engineering and construction services worldwide, including oil and gas field surface construction, refining and chemical unit construction, and pipeline construction and engineering design, all of which follows sophisticated operational specifications. Our engineering and construction activities in 2007 focused on constructing storage and transportation facilities, building up new oil/gas productivity, and constructing and renovating refining and chemical facilities. We won tenders for several major overseas engineering and construction projects, and a number of overseas engineering and construction projects were commenced or completed and put into operation:   The Mahe Gas Field in the Junggar Basin and the Yingmaili gas fields in the Tarim Basin were put into operation.   The reconstruction and upgrading of a 1.2Mt/a diesel hydrogenation unit at Liaoyang Petrochemical was completed.   The offshore terminal of the Block 3/7 crude pipeline in Sudan was completed and put into operation, increasing the oilfield's productivity to 200,000 barrels per day.   The first phase of the Third Zhanazhol Oil & Gas Processing Plant was completed and put into operation in Kazakhstan, which can process 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas a year.   The construction of a 5Mt/a gas condensate refinery has been steadily progressing in Algeria.
