On behalf of CNPC, I would like to extend my best wishes to our employees and their families, and express our gratitude and best wishes to everyone who has supported the development of CNPC.
The year 2010 was the last one of the 11th Five-Year Plan, during which under the correct leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, we followed the scientific concept of development and shouldered our economic, political and social responsibilities. By seizing strategic opportunities and implementing strategies related to resources, marketing and going global, we accelerated the transformation of our development mode, weathered the international financial crisis and a series of major natural disasters, and realized our goals and tasks. As a result, the overall structure of an integrated international energy company has taken shape, and the company’s value, international competitiveness and influence have significantly improved. Our company has come a long way, with progress in a number of fields.
In 2010, facing a complex macro-economic environment and frequent natural disasters, we stayed positive, tackled the difficulties head-on, and did our utmost to consolidate the progress already made in fighting the financial crisis. As a result, our production and management performance exceeded our expectations, with considerable improvements in business performance. New discoveries and breakthroughs were made in resources exploration, crude oil output resumed growth, and natural gas output continued to grow rapidly. The year 2010 also saw highly efficient refinery processing, with improved technical and economic indicators, The establishment and operation of Guangxi Petrochemical was a highlight of our refining capacity layout in southern and coastal China, while the scientific allocation of resources through sales and trade to stabilize the market supply took place, with oil sales exceeding 100 million tons for the first time, and synchronous growth in sales, market share and economic benefits being achieved. The construction of four strategic channels is in full swing, with the operation of Central Asian-China Gas Pipeline B, the Russia-China Crude Pipeline, the construction of the Myanmar-China Oil and Gas Pipeline, and the operation of a number of key domestic oil and gas pipelines and facilities.
Our overseas business continues to grow, with rapid progress in large oil and gas cooperation projects in Iran and Iraq, new cooperation agreements signed, the fourth million-ton overseas oil field built, a new level reached in oil and gas production and the rapid development of international trade. There have been significant improvements in business operations such as engineering and technology, as well as improved service support and competitiveness. The transformation of our development mode has started to pay off in terms of technical innovation, as well as improvements in our management capabilities, safety, environmental protection and energy conservation.
The year 2011, the first of the 12th Five-Year Plan, is full of hope and opportunities, heralding more challenging tasks, more glorious missions, and even brighter prospects. We should grasp the new situation and changes both domestically and internationally. Focusing on scientific development and the transformation of our development mode, we will continue to adhere to our strategies of increasing resources, expanding market and seeking a greater international role and give full play to advantages offered by integrated operations, so as to promote structural optimization, technological innovation, safety and environmental protection, energy conservation, emission reduction and management expertise. Special attention should be paid to protecting and improving people's livelihoods, promoting the building of an integrated international energy company and creating a green, international and sustainable CNPC, in a bid to contribute to our national energy security and the stable and rapid development of the national economy.
At the beginning of a new year, my gratitude goes to you all, since CNPC would not be where it is today without your wisdom and hard work.
In closing, I wish you a happy life and good health. |
