| Two framework agreements are signed with Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) on creating a joint venture to develop Junin-4 Block and creating a joint venture refinery in China. According to the agreements, two joint venture companies will be established to drill for and upgrade super-heavy oil at Junin-4 Block in the Orinoco heavy oil belt and build a joint venture refinery in China respectively. CNPC has a 40% stake in the Junin-4 Block joint venture and a 60% holding in the joint venture refinery. |

| An agreement is signed with the government of Niger on the exploration and development of the Agadem Block. The project integrates upstream and downstream businesses including oilfield exploration and development, and the construction and operation of a long-distance pipeline and an oil refinery. Under the agreement, CNPC will complete the first phase of the project within three years, which will see the oilfield, pipeline and refinery become operational. |
