Introduction
CPTDC can provide five categories of oilfiled chemicals, including drilling fluid additives, cement slurry additives, oil production chemicals, oil/gas transportation & gathering chemicals and water treatment chemicals.
Drilling fluid additives include weighing materials, filtrate reducers, viscosifiers, thinners, shale inhibitors, lubricants, defoamers and chemicals for oil-based fluids.
Cement slurry additives include retarders, accelerators, fluid loss control additives, dispersants, defoamers and API cement.
Oil production chemicals include water shutting off/profit modifying agents, demulsifiers, pour point depressants and additives for fractracing and acidizing.
Oil/gas transportation & gathering chemicals include demulsifiers for crude emulsions, paraffin remover and inhibitor, drag reduction agents and viscosity reducer.
Water treatment chemicals include flocculant, bactericide, scale inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor and clay stabilizer.
Now, China has an annual production capacity of oilfield chemicals of more than three million tons. In order to provide quality products, CPTDC cooperates with presitigious labs and institutes to perform tests and to provide tailored products according to the requirements of different oilfields.
The labs and institutes include the Drilling Fluid Research Institute, Cementing Research Institute, Oil Chemical Research Institute and Acidizing & Fracturing Research Institute of CNPC to develop all types of new oilfield chemicals.
The Drilling Fluid Research Institute, equipped with more than 100 sets of equipment, possesses 12 labs for the chemical analysis and test of drilling fluid, completion fluid and treating agent and has developed 12 items of technology and 10 series of drilling fluid treating agents.
The Cementing Research Institute, equipped with 137 sets of instrument for the research of cement slurry, occupies labs of 3000 m2 and has developed 80 types of oil well additives for cement slurry and 12 items of cement slurry and preflushing fluid technology for the cementing operation of complex wells.
The Acidizing & Fracturing Research Institute is equipped with over 1300 sets of world class instrument such as fluid multi-functional loop, multi-functional core flow test instrument, nuclear magnetic resonance spectromer, isotope analyzer and electronic environment scanner camera, as well as advanced computer software. The institute has established a lab for low permeability reservoir improvement, with the technical edge in the research of natural gas geology and development, low permeable gas field and environment comprehensive improvement.
The Oil Chemical Institute mainly focuses on the research of chemicals for oil production, oil/gas gathering and transportation, such as surfactant for chemical flooding, crude oil paraffin remover and inhibitor, crude pour point depressant, demulsifier and plug removal agent, water shuting off/profil modifying agents. The institute has developed over 60 types of products in 5 categories, in which the sand-control agent and temporary plunging agent have gained benefits in oilfield. The sand-control agent has been applied in 16 wells in Shengli and Liaohe Oilfields, increasing 28 tons of daily oil production and prolonging the pump maintenance intervals from 23 days to 143 days.
To date, CPTDC has provided China’ s oilfield chemicals to Americas, Asia, the Middle East and CIS.
