China Petroleum Technology and Development Corporation (CPTDC), founded in 1987, the equipment sales arm of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), is the largest supplier of Chinese petroleum and petrochemical materials and equipment in the world.

CPTDC has established a mature marketing network, with 34 overseas offices and subsidiaries (7 joint ventures are included), 3 warehouses and 6 maintenance centers strategically located in 23 countries throughout the world. CPTDC has been supplying its products to 69 countries and regions and maintained stable relationships with world major oil and service companies.

CPTDC possesses a substantial resource system with more than 800 vendors. Most of those vendors are API or ISO certified and some can provide world class products.

CPTDC has a professional technical support system to provide customized complete solutions covering technical plan, quality control, installation, commissioning and after-sales services. To date, CPTDC has succeeded in the execution of the contracts for hundreds of drilling rigs and workover rigs as well as over 4000 km pipe line. With 6 maintenance centers across the globe, the corporation's in-time and professional services have been widely acclaimed by users.

CPTDC's operation principle is "Basing on Service, Striving for Excellence". The corporation aims to build the international brand of CNPC petroleum materials and equipment and endeavors to become a leading supplier in the world energy industry. By the end of 2007, CPTDC has provided over hundreds of drilling rigs(1,000-4,000 Hp) and workover rigs(250-750 Hp) to USA, Canada, Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Congo, etc.

CPTDC succeeded in providing equipment and materials of USD 1.5 billion for the construction of Khartoum refinery in 1997.

In 1999, CPTDC signed a Lease Contract of ESPs with GNPOC of Sudan for more than 300 wells.

CPTDC won China-Kazakhstan Pipeline Project (Phase Ⅰand Ⅱ) in 2004, to supply 966 km (183.3 thousand tons) of pipe line. By the end of 2005, 577 km (108.3 thousand tons) of pipe line had been provided for the Project PhaseⅠ. In 2006, CPTDC provided a total of 230 km pipe line (44 thousand tons) and 43,000 tons of steel plates for East Siberia-to-Pacific Ocean Pipeline Project. Until 2007, CPTDC has provided 365,000 tons of tubing and casing and 47,000 km(480,000 tons) pipe line to the world market.

All of the CNPC's manufacturers are API or ISO licensed, some of whom are prestigious and can provide world class products.CPTDC's quality management system was ISO 9001: 2000 certified by DNV in 2003.
