CPECC entered Iraq in June, 1981. CPECC Iraq Office was founded with the approval of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation on November 29th, 1984. The Office was the earliest office founded by CNPC in Iraq. The Office was formally registered as CPECC Iraq Co., Ltd in xxxx. Its headquarters is located in xxxxxxxxxx.
The major work of Iraq Branch is contracting for petroleum projects, petrochemical projects and projects in other relevant specialties, and mainly includes the EPC of projects such as surface production facilities for oil and gas fields, refineries, power stations, power transmission lines as well as crude-oil long-distance pipelines, pump stations and terminals. From 1981 to 2000, CPECC entered into 25 contracts in total, including 12 labor subcontracts, 6 drilling project contracts and 7 project construction contracts. Service region covers 9 oilfields such as Zubair and Rumaila. At present, Iraq Branch is participating in the construction of three large oilfields, al-Ahdab, Rumaila and Halfaya. The al-Ahdab oilfield project has been formally commenced.
